Trump orders removal of Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook over mortgage fraud allegations

Citing a criminal referral dated August 15 from the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s director to the U.S. attorney general, Mr. Trump wrote in his letter to Ms. Cook: “I have determined that there is sufficient cause to remove you from your position”
